Mara’J, which stands for “My Angel Remembered Always Jewelry”, was founded in 2019 after owners Renita and Renard Roan loss their daughter Kali. After their loss, Renita wanted to find a way to reach out to others to say, "You are not in this by yourself!" Mara’J was created to bring comfort and support to others who have suffered from a loss.

TAP differentiates itself from other media platforms in that it does not discuss these topics through the traditional political lens, but solely through the lens of activists and the people affected by the issues. The publication will cover the full spectrum of topics to include: racial equity, economic justice, criminal justice reform, gender equity, environmental justice, and much more.
